Summer's End Dog Fest 2009
Film, Food, Fun and Fido!

The goal of the first annual Summer's End Dog Fest is to bring together Portland's dog lovers and the residents of Hollywood, Grant Park, Laurelhurst and Irvington neighborhoods at a special event at Grant Park, famous for its statues of Beverly Cleary's Ramona and her dog, Ribsy. The purpose of this event is to build community, raise funds and awareness for Film Action Oregon / The Hollywood Theatre, and simply to have fun. There will be no charge to attend the event. We will charge for food and some activities (such as the raffle).

Activities

  • "Wiener Takes All" screening of a family-friendly documentary about wiener dog racing
  • Live wiener dog races
  • Activities for kids - face painting, balloon animals, crafts, etc.
  • Hot dog eating contest
  • Doggie dress up photo booth
  • Raffle with dog-related items
  • Information booths for dog-related organizations and businesses
