VIDEO GONG SHOW

WHAT: Calling all short films!! (Music videos, Senior thesis projects, Feature Excerpts, & Teasers, etc.) Submit short films (of any quality) to be rated by a jury of their peers & a panel of celebrity judges. 3 competitive rounds of screenings have been scheduled & each is to take place in a different Portland quadrant throughout the summer. Top 5 films from each round will advance to the Finals at the Hollywood Theatre in October. Contestants compete for a $100 cash prize and a grand prize package from Picture This worth $1000. Just as with the classic show, the film's run time could be cut short by the sound of a GONG! The competition is meant to be fun (not cruel). Come support Portland's Indie filmmakers, while sipping a beer and having a laugh. Proceeds benefit Film Action Oregon (FAO), now in its 18th year of operation. FAO supports working artists producing independent film projects, educates youth in the art of filmmaking & animation, and presents a nationally-recognized film exhibition program on 3 screens at the historic Hollywood Theatre. WHEN: Round 1 - The Know - July 28th @ 8pm - submit by July 23rd Round 2 - The Woods - August 31st @ 8pm - submit by Aug 27th Round 3 - Bheulahland - September 29th @ 8pm - submit by Sept 24th FINALS - Hollywood Theater October 21st VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: $5 submission fee Films must be at least 2 minutes long. All video entries must be submitted on DVD, and include the following information: Title, Run time, Producer, Director, Submitter Contact information. Please drop submissions off at the Hollywood Theatre. All films will be screened by the organizers, and as many as possible will be played publically during the various rounds. Film Action Oregon reserves the right to exclude any film based on content, taste, technical difficulty.
